I grew up in Japan and lived the traditional culture. My mother was a teacher who taught people how to wear Kimono. I remember how excited I was whenever I saw beautiful Kimono and the gorgeous Obi belts when I was a kid...

Nowadays Japan has adopted western culture and only a few people wear Kimono. We still kept a lot of Kimono and Obi belts but these were in storage for a long time.

When I visited my mom in Japan few years ago, we went through all our Kimono and Obi belts. They were still beautiful but we were sad they were in storage... We wanted them to have attention again so we started making bags using Kimono and Obi belt material for our family and friends. I got a lot of compliments from them. I hope many people will love my handmade bags and accessories and enjoy a taste of Japan!
